My Opa’s love for food, family, and the recipes that he collected for his children to cook for their own families inspired the concept of Opa’s Kitchen, a German influenced, cozy, and upscale restaurant. The illustration and colors are inspired by German folk patterns.

Opa’s Cookbook has a more rustic design than the original restaurant menu and identity to preserve brand consistency, while highlighting the at-home, family oriented recipes.  All of the illustrations were sketched by hand, and rendered digitally with watercolor textures.
